Judean Refugee Runestone With Selu/Selene From Cirta 525 BCE

(March 29, 2025)  This Punic runestone is Louvre number AO 1022, Med Text 94. Based on its weathering it is one of the oldest runestones from Cirta.

This text has Judahite style lettering suggesting this early stele was made by refugees from the Assyrian invasion which finished up in 586 BCE with the fall of Jerusalem.

The text on the left stone reads:

  1. Lack of life-manifestations is from nourishing the pasture's (starry night sky represented by Selu/Selene) judgment. 
  2. The nest (life network) is rendering the threads of fate.
  3. Seers of astrology-magic can chastise the lack
